Practicing Since: 2017

Eric Kuessner, LCSW-C is a skilled child therapist who specializes in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma. He is trained in a variety of therapeutic interventions, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), play therapy, and traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

As a TF-CBT therapist, he works with children and their families to process and overcome traumatic experiences, using a combination of cognitive-behavioral and trauma-focused techniques to teach coping skills and build resilience. He also uses play therapy, which utilizes play as a medium for children to express their thoughts and feelings and help them process and overcome emotional difficulties. He believes that children have a natural ability to learn through play, and this approach is a very effective way for children to process and make sense of their emotions.

In addition,  Eric also uses traditional CBT, which is based on the idea that negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected and can be changed through a combination of cognitive and behavioral techniques. He understands that this approach works well for children with anxiety and depression to help them understand their thoughts and emotions better and learn coping strategies.

He provides compassionate, evidence-based care to help children and families achieve lasting improvements in their emotional and mental well-being. He approaches each child as an individual and tailor their treatment plan to their unique needs. With his diverse background in different therapy techniques. Eric offers a comprehensive and personalized approach to treatment that can help children and families overcome their challenges and achieve emotional well-being.

Eric is licensed in the state of Maryland #22502.
